90 Years on the Road

Book design

Client: Kautra. This is a supplementary edition of the book '80 Years on the Road'. Book is 296 pages, soft cover, non chalk paper. Kautra's signature green and asphalt colors were used, combined with creamy white.

The colours and contrasts of the book have been chosen in accordance with WCAG accessibility requirements. The book's font was also chosen to be as large as possible to facilitate readability.

Book Accessibility

In order to make the book accessible to the visually impaired, we have decided to produce an accessible pdf file that can be easily read by blind people on the reading devices they use. The beauty of the book's design has been sacrificed for functionality. The number of illustrations in the book has been reduced. All illustrations are presented with alternative text. The font has been enlarged to make it easier to read for the visually impaired. The structure of the book and the headings have been adapted to reading devices used by the blind. (This part is not yet implemented, it is a work in progress).
